Booker Hill Projects Ltd
Case Study -
V22 Marine Corps USA
The Project was to design and program a fire safety rig for the Osprey Helicopter in South Carolina at a Marine Corp Airforce Base.
This project had many challenges to overcome that had not been implemented on aircraft before. Integrating into the control system to make it simple to control during an exercise.
These included:
Noise Box with realistic sound effects
Coloured fuel leaks within the Aircraft
Lifting Tailgate
“Coloured” Smoke
Bespoke Wireless controller for the internal fires and effects
It was essential the control system did not interfere with the look and feel of the aircraft. They were hidden within the side areas, but still readily accessible for maintenance.
The control desk for the external fires had a twin screen SCADA System, so all parts of the scenario could be monitored whilst training.
